The second round of the FedExCup playoffs is underway, and we have some fun figuring out who to target with our BMW Championship OAD and one-and-done picks.
The PGA Tour did a great job with the BMW Championship. I think this is the only event where the PGA Tour is willing to try an unconventional golf course. A change from the norm is great, and I'm excited to see Castle Pines this week. It's literally called the “longest course in PGA Tour history.” Any golf fan can't help but get excited.
This might make you think you need distance to come out on top this week. Personally I don't think so. Of course distance is never a bad thing, but I don't believe you need the skill to be in the top 50 in driving distance to do well this week. Remember, this event is at high altitude so all players will have increased distance this week.
While the public focuses on the big hitters, we focus on the players with a great approach that set themselves apart in the OAD world and rise to the top.

This week is Morikawa week!
I was considering betting on Morikawa last week on the outright card at St. Jude to see how popular he would be. In the end, Morikawa was a huge favorite, to everyone's disappointment.
I believe that Morikawa will not be in the spotlight this week because of all the talk about “distance.” If you look at the courses where Morikawa has performed well, they are all big boy courses. You would be surprised to see how well Morikawa has performed on longer golf courses than the shorter courses that seem to suit his game.
This is a great place to use the Morikawa if you can, you will definitely be one of the few guys who can match up against it and in my opinion the Morikawa is really equipped to perform on this course.
It's been a strange few weeks for Rory but I love that this golf course is the perfect environment for him.
Lawry's game is built around strong approach play, which will be the most important statistic related to success this week. He is an inconsistent putter, but given his ownership and odds, he should play well in your pool.
My favorite comp this week is Valhalla, as Lawry played extremely well during the week and had a chance to win on Sunday.
If the Irishman is available, don’t hesitate to use him.
Pendrith is playing some great golf in 2024 and I don’t think he’s done yet.
Pendrith has his sights set on not only the playoffs, but also a spot on the Presidents Cup team, and a great week in Colorado could help him achieve that.
Looking at Pendris' Korn Ferry Tour resume, he played in the Colorado Championship in 2020, finishing in a tie for third place. That was at a different venue, but he proved he can play solid golf in these conditions.
Pendrith is a PGA Tour winner this season and has been playing very solid golf recently, with two of his last three finishes being T5 and two strong rounds at TPC Southwind.
