Top 2024 Wyndham Championship Golf Predictions
There was one surprise: Three-time major champion Jordan Spieth didn't finish in the top 10 this week. Spieth ended a nearly four-year winless streak at the 2021 Valero Texas Open and won his 13th PGA TOUR victory the following spring at the 2022 RBC Heritage. But his 28-month drought with just 13 wins has seen the former world No. 1 drop to 39th in the Official World Golf Rankings.
Spieth is 63rd in the FedEx Cup standings and enters the Wyndham Championship for the first time in three seasons looking to solidify a playoff spot. He played in this tournament at Sedgefield twice before (2019 and 2020) but failed to finish outside the top 70 either time and hasn't finished better than tied for 25th in a PGA Tour event since the Texas Open in April.
The model also looked at Im's ranking. Im is the 20th ranked player in the world and the only golfer in the top 25 entering the 2024 Wyndham Championship. He's 9th in the FedEx Cup standings, the highest ranking of any golfer entering the 2024 Wyndham Championship, so it makes sense he's a favorite to win this weekend.
However, Im has not won on the PGA Tour since 2021 and has not won in the past 76 PGA Tour events. This will be his sixth Wyndham Championship, but it could be a new challenge for Im as he has never played at Sedgefield Country Club. He has also finished outside the top 10 in two of the past three Wyndham Championships, despite the Wyndham Championship often featuring one of the weakest fields on the PGA Tour schedule.
