This Saturday, the Buffalo Riverworks will host the 24th Annual Discflect World Championships, presented by Can Jam. Disflect (formerly known as Can Jam) is a recreational flying disc sport that was “born” in Buffalo. For over 20 years, Disflect fans have traveled to Buffalo to compete in the annual Discflect World Championships. The event is open to all ages and skill levels, with no prior qualification required. The World Championship event has two divisions: Professional and Amateur.
“Following a tradition that stretches back more than 30 years, the sport of discflex has a major world championship tournament every year. In the early days it was invitational, but since 1999 it has been invitational. Although it has a different name, the PDFA has been organizing the tournament since 2007. In 2021, the sport was rebranded as discflex and the PDFA (Professional Discflex Association) became the governing body of the sport.” – PDFA
