The WBA Asian Games, held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, which began last Friday, ended this Sunday, August 11th. The event ended with a night of boxing, where several regional titles were contested between talented boxers, and was also attended by the President of the World Boxing Association (WBA), Gilberto Jesus Mendoza.
After two days of intense and fulfilling activities, WBA Asia, a growing organisation on the Asian continent, concluded with this fantastic event.
Avzarbek Kurambayev was the headliner of the day, defeating China's Davon Wang to defend his WBA Asia Super Welterweight belt, while Lekuan Wang defeated Anusorn Thongluang by technical knockout to win the WBA Asia East Super Lightweight title.
The event was a great success, bringing together some of Asia's best athletes. The pioneering organisation WBA Asia congratulates them on hosting this fantastic tournament, another important step towards the globalisation of the sport and a new approach to boxing on the world stage.
