Temperatures will rise on Wednesday

News. Wednesday starts off quiet. Sunny with mostly low humidity. Dew points in the low 60s, 75% humidity, a light north and northwest breeze, and temperatures in the city, metro suburbs, and Louisville suburbs at 69 degrees, low to mid 60s, comfortable for mid-August. This is the norm. Elizabethtown is 62, Seymour is 63, cooler, and Madison, Indiana is 59. But as we plan to do today, we will see more sunshine and warmer temperatures. 84 at noon. By 5 o'clock, 89 is the norm. That's right. I would normally expect the temperature to warm up a little earlier in the afternoon, but by the evening, it will be closer to 90. Sunny. Warmer. By 10:00, it will be a comfortable 80. Humidity will also remain low today. So it might get a little hot in the afternoon, but overall I think that's going to be the key to whether or not we're going to have a pleasant day in the area. Keep an eye out for some unsettled weather out west, especially tomorrow night, heading our way. But keep an eye out on the radar throughout the day ahead. Calm weather, mostly sunny, maybe a few clouds moving in the afternoon, but they're all clear-sky clouds, so we're not going to have any showers or thunderstorms as the sun goes down between today and tomorrow morning. On Thursday we're going to turn our attention to the west. We're expecting some showers and storms to weaken, and we might have some showers later in the day. But I think the higher chances for showers and storms from this system are going to be late Thursday night into early Friday morning. We'll have to keep an eye on these storms to see if they can coalesce into a storm that could bring a couple of stronger gusts into the area in the hours later this week. So we're forecasting some impacts on the weather Thursday night, Friday morning, and then late Friday afternoon into the evening. There's a chance of some showers and storms. High temperatures over the next three days will be in the upper 80s to near 90. There will be a chance of rain on Saturday, but it will be sunny during the day and continue through the weekend, followed by mostly cloudy skies on Sunday with a comfortable, quiet high of 86 degrees and mornings in the 60s.
