The Lake Mary All-Stars are preparing for their Little League World Series debut on Wednesday in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. For the first time in nearly 20 years, Central Florida will be playing in the Little League World Series. The Lake Mary Little League All-Stars won the Southeast Regional Tournament in Warner Robins, Georgia earlier this month. Wednesday night, Lake Mary will play in the season opener against a team from Sioux Falls, South Dakota at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN. Coach Jonathan Anderson told WESH 2 that the night before the game, his team was playing cornhole with the same Midwest team they will be playing on the diamond today. “They're having the time of their lives. We got a ton of free stuff from Easton and Adidas,” Anderson said. “It's just fun to see them interact with kids from all over the world.” No Florida team has ever won the Little League World Series, but now the Lake Mary team is one of 20 teams from around the world, 10 of which are from the United States, competing for the championship. Anderson is excited about his team's chances of victory as they start their journey tonight. “Unless they get that moment, we're going to be here,” he said. “We're going to take every team we play to six innings.” Watching party
