Dublin dream-rockers KEELEY (Keeley Moss) have announced their new album, Beautiful Mysterious, which is due for release on October 18th via Tiny Global Productions and kicks off with latest single, Trans-Europe 18.
“Trans-Europe 18” builds on Motorik’s pulsating and pulsating bass rhythm, emanating waves of intricately layered sound with in-phase guitars, chiming argeggios, moon-like synth loops and mesmerizing organ interwoven with luminous lead vocals to create KEELEY’s most addictive single to date.
Today, the former Sessions Mots frontwoman unveiled a homemade video for the hard-hitting single, using painstakingly curated footage from 1988, where the story is set.
Co-written with KEELEY producer Alan Maguire, the song is based on a tragic story and the fateful journey of 18-year-old German backpacker Inga Maria Hauser, who interrailed from Munich to England filled with optimism and the excitement of the unknown, only to be murdered in Northern Ireland. “Trans Europe 18” celebrates her youth and vitality, documenting the first part of her journey as she travels towards and reaches her destination in London.
To further build anticipation for the upcoming album, Keely and her bandmates, bassist Lukey Foxtrot and ex-Morrissey drummer Andrew Pareci, have announced a number of live dates across the UK this autumn, with more to be announced in the coming days.
