NEW YORK — Staten Island's South Shore Little League team will play its first game in the 2024 Little League World Series on Thursday.
Staten Island will take on the Paseo Verde Little League team from Henderson, Nev., in a Metro Region vs. Mountain Region matchup with the game starting at 3 p.m. in South Williamsport, Pa.
Staten Island Little League World Series Schedule
The 2024 Little League World Series kicked off on Wednesday at 1 p.m., featuring 20 teams from 10 U.S. regions and 10 international territories.
If Staten Island wins its first game on Thursday, their next game will be Monday, August 19. If they lose, they will drop to the eliminated side of the tournament bracket and play again on Saturday, August 17.
If they make it to the finals, the match will take place on August 25th.

Thursday, August 15
Japan vs. Puerto Rico, 1 p.m. Metro vs. Mountain, 3 p.m. Cuba vs. Europe-Africa, 5 p.m. Southwest vs. Mid-Atlantic, 7 p.m.
Friday, August 16
Winner of Game 1 against Latin America, 1 p.m. Winner of Game 2 against Great Lakes, 3 p.m. Winner of Game 3 against Australia, 5 p.m. Winner of Game 4 against Northwest, 7 p.m.

How to Watch the Little League World Series in Staten Island
Admission to both Howard J. Lamade Stadium and Volunteer Stadium is free for those attending in person. Seating is first-come, first-served, with the exception of one section behind home plate, and no tickets are required.
Tickets are required for championship weekend, but are typically reserved for league volunteers and special guests, although seating is available on the terraces on the hill above the outfield.
Those wanting to support Staten Island locally can attend a free viewing party hosted by Borough President Vito Fossella on Thursday at 2pm at the Fast Break Basketball Facility on Richmond Valley Road in Tottenville.
The Little League World Series will be broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC.
Staten Island takes pride in its South Shore Little League team
This will be the South Shore Little League team's fourth trip to the Little League World Series.
Staten Island improved to 17-2 this summer and advanced to the tournament with a 5-0 win over the Morristown Little League team.
“A home run for South Shore Little League! They're on their way to the Little League World Series and we're all rooting for them!” Mayor Eric Adams wrote to X When they won.
“Please continue to make great memories and make Staten Island proud — we are all with you,” the borough president wrote on Facebook.
