U.S. News & World Report released its 2024-25 Best Hospitals list on Tuesday, and Johns Hopkins Hospital was once again named one of the top 20 hospitals in the nation.
This marks the second year that U.S. News has chosen not to give a numerical ranking to the top 20 hospitals named to its annual “Best Hospitals” list. Last year, the magazine changed how it ranks hospitals, listing all hospitals in alphabetical order that earned enough points to be named to the honor roll, rather than giving each top hospital a numerical ranking.
Johns Hopkins Hospital ranked first in Maryland, the Baltimore metropolitan area, and the Mid-Atlantic region, which consists of seven states and Washington, D.C. Sibley Memorial Hospital and Suburban Hospital ranked in the top 10 overall in their respective metropolitan and regional areas, and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center was recognized as Best Regional Hospital for Equitable Access for its outstanding results in underserved communities.
Additionally, U.S. News & World Report released its specialty rankings: 12 Johns Hopkins medical specialties ranked in the top 10 in their fields, with rheumatology ranked No. 1 for the 20th consecutive year.
“It is an honor to be considered one of the best hospitals in the nation,” said Theodore L. DeWees, MD, dean of medicine and CEO of Johns Hopkins Medicine. “While we understand that rankings such as these do not fully take into account the many factors that highlight the excellent care we provide, this recognition is a testament to the deep commitment of our faculty, nurses and staff, and a tribute to the unwavering dedication, compassion and excellence they demonstrate every day while providing exceptional care to our patients and their families.”
