At the end of Thursday's live broadcast, “Big Brother 26” announced its latest twist, which is tailor-made for players who like to stir things up (i.e. people like Angela Murray and Tucker Des Lauriers). It's called the AI Instigator, and it gives viewers the power to choose someone to start digital drama in the house for a week. Whoever wins the power can use artificial intelligence deepfakes to attack other contestants and hide their true identity. Read on to find out how you can vote for “Big Brother's” AI Instigator twist.
From now until Thursday, August 22 at 9AM PST, you can visit the official CBS website and cast up to 10 votes per day for who you want to be the AI Instigator. Your first 5 votes per day will be automatically awarded when you log in. To earn your second 5 votes per day, you will need to watch a free ad. Voting is open to U.S. residents 18 years of age or older.
Here are the fine print: “Viewers of the 'Big Brother 26' television show will be asked to interact with the show through web voting. Viewers will vote for which eligible houseguest they would like to receive AI Instigator Power. AI Instigator Power allows users to create virtual avatars of other current houseguests for one week and dictate what to say and to whom. Viewers will vote via the following platforms. The eligible houseguest with the most votes once the voting results are revealed will win the power.”
Why is “Big Brother” called “Big Brother”? The meaning of the name explained
Big Brother host Julie Chen Moonves made the big announcement on August 15, also revealing that viewers will be able to award cash prizes at the end of the AI provocateur's week-long reign of terror. Financial details will be announced at a later date.
As of this writing, regardless of who wins or is blocked from Head of Household this week, all 12 remaining players are eligible to become AI Instigators: Angela, Tucker, Brooklyn Rivera, Cam Sullivan Brown, Chelsea Baham, Joseph Rodriguez, Kimo Apaka, Leah Peters, Mackensie Manbeck, Quinn Martin, Rubina Bernabe, and T'kor Clottey.
That doesn't include the four people who already left the BB26 house this summer: Matt Hardeman, Lisa Weintraub, Kenny Kelly and Cedric Hodges, who will be watching the AI Instigator drama unfold from home, just like the rest of us.
