It's that time of year when parents and students start considering what they'll need for the upcoming school year, and with it comes new trends.
CTV Morning Live brings you the scoop from three different shops in Place D'Orleans.
“Denim is huge right now,” said Kim Fortin, general manager of AUB44.
She points out that jeans of all styles are in fashion.
All-over denim is also on trend this fall, with denim jumpsuits, jean jackets and skirts all on trend.
Describing the outfit worn by the model, she said that for girls, leggings and a dress paired with a jean jacket would be the perfect outfit of the season.
Another perfect outfit idea for little girls is to pair cargo jeans, a sweater, and a jean jacket, she suggests.
When it comes to shoes, “the 574 is really on trend right now,” says Alisha Colombi, general manager of Kiddie Cobbler.
Emma Martin, marketing manager at Place d'Orléans, said colorful backpacks are on trend this year because kids are interested in fun colors and patterns.
Martin suggests buying your child a backpack with lots of pockets and space.
While staying hydrated is important, Martin said you shouldn't forget about water bottles, noting that bottles that keep water cold are still trending this year.
