Dennis Chan will lead investments in Asia excluding India and Japan.

Dennis Chan has been appointed managing partner and head of Asia investments at SoftBank Investment Advisers, which manages SoftBank Vision Fund, the corporate venture capital fund of Japanese technology conglomerate SoftBank.
Based in Hong Kong, Chan joined SoftBank Investment Advisers as a partner in the firm's China division in October 2019. He became managing partner of the division in 2021 and head of China investments in 2023. His role as head of Asia investments covers the region excluding Japan and India.
Prior to joining SoftBank Investment Advisers, Chan worked in M&A at the Hong Kong branch of US multinational investment bank Goldman Sachs in 2005. In 2008, he moved to the Asia Special Situations Group, investing on behalf of Goldman Sachs in the region, and was appointed Managing Director in 2016.
SoftBank Investment Advisers was founded in 2017 and manages two funds called the Vision Fund, which targets technology startups and can invest up to $1 billion in a single transaction, making it the largest technology venture capital fund in the world.
SoftBank Vision Fund II's Asian portfolio companies include bKash, a Bangladeshi fintech platform that allows users to access financial services, and Emeritus, a Singapore-based education technology company that offers business and professional education courses.
