University of California, Berkeley's graduate programs once again ranked among the best in the nation in several categories, according to the Class of 2024 rankings released by U.S. News & World Report late Monday, April 8. In total, nearly 30 Berkeley graduate programs ranked in the top 10 in the nation.
Each year, U.S. News ranks professional school programs and specializations in business, education, engineering, law, medicine and nursing. (Berkeley Law School does not participate in the rankings.) Other schools, as well as fields and specializations in science, humanities, social sciences and health, are also regularly ranked by the media company. Rankings of the best engineering schools, medical schools and clinical psychology programs were postponed this year.
Berkeley school programs and fields that made it into the top 10 this year include Computer Science (No. 1), Public Policy (No. 4), Social Work (No. 4), Business (No. 7) and Public Health (No. 10).

U.S. News compiled its 2024-25 rankings data for the six annually ranked colleges and universities from a statistical survey of 2,225 programs and a reputation survey sent to approximately 5,766 academics and 10,941 professionals in fall 2023 and early 2024.
This year's rankings of graduate programs in public policy, public health, computer science and social work were based on qualitative assessments of academic quality submitted by the schools' top officials. Learn more about the U.S. News methodology.
