Recommendations for Tuesday, August 20
Shakira Austin scores over 11.5 points (+100) against the Seattle Storm
DraftKings Sportsbook, 4:30 p.m. CST
Killien Sprecher: The Mystics traded for Mysha Hines-Allen before Tuesday's game, so there will be plenty of time for Austin to be absent in the frontcourt. Austin was limited to 20 minutes in each of her first two games since her return, so Washington may not want to risk giving her additional minutes, but I expect her minutes to increase when she's on the court. In those 40 minutes, Austin has recorded 25 points (15-of-9 from the field), 15 rebounds, six steals and two blocks. Even with limited minutes, Austin is able to fill up the stat sheet.
Alyssa Thomas, 11.5+ points against the Los Angeles Sparks (-125)
DraftKings Sportsbook, 4:30 p.m. CST
Killien Sprecher: The Sparks continue to struggle with personnel issues and are allowing opposing forwards the league's best field goal percentage. Thomas scored 12 or more points in each of his first two games after the Olympic break and made 4 of 5 field goals in his only game against the Sparks this season. Look for Thomas to be aggressive after the Suns' disappointing loss at Atlanta on Sunday.
Sato Sabally scores 18.5 points over the New York Liberty (-105)
DraftKings Sportsbook, 4:05 p.m. CST
Kirien Sprecher: Sabari returned during the Paris Olympics and was impressive in the 2024 WNBA season opener against Connecticut, scoring 20 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. The Wings will need to be at her best if they want to have a chance to beat the top-seeded Liberty.
