RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Monument Health sees more than 800 visitors each day, and their new electronic visitor system will make it even easier for visitors to see their loved ones.
The new visitor management system has been rolled out gradually this week but will be fully up and running and available for use on Wednesday. The kiosk system allows visitors to check in and out when they visit.
It is currently available for inpatient visitors but will soon be available in emergency departments as well.
The system is not new and was started during the COVID-19 pandemic, but the hospital decided to start using it now to improve access and security for visitors.
“Our patients trust us to keep them safe, and this visitor kiosk allows us to know exactly who is in our building at any time. It's an added layer of safety and will help our patients, visitors and caregivers know they are safe,” said Judy O'Connell, Guest Services Manager at Monument Health.
Monument would like to remind visitors to remember to correctly spell the name of the patient they are visiting, and if they experience any issues with the kiosk system, to contact a member of the Guest Services team for assistance.
