TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Gas prices are trending down in Kansas and across the nation.
According to AAA, the national average price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline was $3.38 as of Thursday morning, down 6 cents from $3.44 a week ago, 12 cents from $3.50 a week ago and 47 cents from $3.85 a year ago.
Prices in Kansas were even cheaper, according to AAA.
The average price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline in Kansas on Thursday was $3.10, down 4 cents from $3.14 a week ago, 5 cents from $3.15 a month ago and 51 cents from $3.61 a year ago.
Meanwhile, diesel fuel prices have also been trending downward in recent weeks. According to AAA, the national average price for a gallon of diesel fuel was $3.72 as of Thursday morning, down 4 cents from $3.76 a week ago, 10 cents from $3.82 a month ago, and 62 cents from $4.34 a year ago.
Unleaded gasoline prices in Topeka on Thursday ranged from $2.84 to $3.19 a gallon, according to GasBuddy.com.
Diesel fuel prices in Topeka ranged from $3.39 to $3.84 a gallon Thursday morning, according to GasBuddy.com.
