The sunflower field and maze is the perfect bridge between summer flowers and fall corn mazes.
Several pick-your-own farms around Portland hold sunflower festivals in August and September, featuring live music, food and drink, family activities, and even a sunflower maze.
Packer's Orchards
Packer Orchard in Hood River promises “sunflower fields, fresh peach pies, apple pie milkshakes, pickle buckets and everything in between” on its website.
Packer Orchard's Sunflower Days will run through Monday, September 1. The farm also has three upcoming special event days planned.
Thursday, August 29th at 7pm: Sunflower Sunset
Friday, August 30th, 6am: Sunrise over a sunflower field
Saturday, August 31st, 7pm: Drinks and walk in the sunflower field
Sunflower Days at Packer Orchard & Farm Place (3020 Thomsen Rd, Hood River), Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Mountain View Orchards
Mountain View Orchard near Mount Hood has sunflower fields as well as pickable flowers like dahlias and lavender.

Topaz Farm
Topaz Farm on Sauvie Island bills itself as hosting the “original and largest sunflower festival” on the island.
The farm has 14 acres of sunflower fields, including a maze.
The farm also hosts a “Sunflowers After Hours” event where you can enjoy an evening stroll through the sunflower maze whilst sipping on a complimentary drink from the farm's bar.

Bella Organic Farm
Bella Organic Farm is also hosting the Sunflower Festival and Eucalyptus Fields on Sauvie Island. The festival runs until Sunday, August 31st.

French Prairie Gardens
French Prairie Gardens in St. Paul will be hosting its annual Sunflower Festival starting Saturday, September 14th.
The festival will feature family-friendly activities like tractor wagon rides to sunflower fields and live music on the weekends, and a farm market will offer a variety of food, including the farm's ice cream bar's “signature apple cider floats topped with apple cider doughnuts,” according to its website.
The festival runs until September 29th.
