Nearly a month after canceling additional European tour dates following Josh Homme's emergency surgery, Queens of the Stone Age have removed their remaining 2024 tour dates from their schedule to prioritize Homme's health.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the band expressed their regret that they were forced to cancel or postpone all upcoming shows. “QOTSA is pleased to announce that we are canceling or postponing all remaining shows for 2024,” the band wrote. “Josh has had no choice but to prioritize his health and receive necessary medical care throughout the remainder of the year.”

In early July, QOTSA canceled eight shows on their European tour so Homme could return to the U.S. for emergency surgery. “We've made every effort to perform for you all, but we can no longer continue,” they said at the time. Later that month, they canceled seven more shows scheduled for August.
Now, the group has postponed shows in Boston, Cincinnati, Chicago and Madison to 2025, and canceled festival appearances in Mexico City, Memphis and Bridgeport altogether.
It's unclear what type of surgery Homme underwent, but he has been open about having health issues over the years, revealing last year that he was diagnosed with a type of cancer in 2022 and underwent surgery to remove the cancer.
In 2023, Queens of the Stone Age will release their first album in six years, In Times New Roman…. Soon after, the band will announce a North American tour, The End Is Nero, followed by European dates. This year, the band had scheduled shows in Australia and North America, as well as some European dates that had to be canceled.
