Carryover: Late Pick 5: $0
Race 1: Claiming $5,000 (conditional), ages 3 and up, 4 furlongs
#3 – Imtakinit the Bank (12-1): He was off the pace in his last race in Pennsylvania, but was good before that. If he can get the speed to the inside, he should be able to get out in front and do well. #4 – El Dechirel (12-1): He had a terrible start in his last race, but apart from that he's been doing much better. Orlando Bocachica rode him to a win two races ago and will ride him again this time. #1 – Bandit's Heart (5-1): He won here last year, beating the speedy Landon Jack, and could be the one to win this year.
Is this a similar trip?
Race 2: Maiden Climbing, $25,000, 2-year-olds, 4 furlongs
#3 – Little Bit Risky (9-5): Showed a bit of improvement in his last two starts and looks prepared for a place like this. #7 – Sir Mick (7-2): 2nd to future stakes winner Stud Read Right in his debut but has been mediocre in his last two races. A bit of rest might have been beneficial. #4 – Bad Boy Blaze (7-2): This debut horse from the Gina Robb trainer is one not to be missed at this track. This horse is a half brother to two 2-year-old winners.
Race 3: Claiming $5,000 (N/W2L), 3-year-olds and older, 6 1/2 furlongs
#7 – Coronation Time (7-2): Has improved immensely since his first win in his last race. #2 – Simon's Choice (9-2): Has been running faster on dirt races recently and could move up a class. #1 – Seeker (20-1): A shorter distance from a mile and 70 yards is just what this speedy gelding needs.
Race 4: Claiming $5,000 (conditional), 3 years and older, fillies, 6 1/2 furlongs
#4 – G's Fireball (7-2): Made a great comeback against similar horses in his last race at Charles Town. He's a shaky horse, but he did his best this time to win. #6 – Sheza Nasty Girl (9-2): Her three-game winning streak was broken in her last race, but she's in great form and should put up a fight in the final stretch. #7 – Tina Tina Tina (9-2): Showed great speed in the final stretch and should be in the running to finish at least first.
Race 5: Claiming $16,000 (conditional), 3 years and older, fillies, 6 1/2 furlongs
#6 – Forgotten Girl (5-2): Has plenty of speed to get up the rail and out to the front and should be hard to catch from there. #4 – Enemy Number Nine (5-2): Has won two of her last three races and has good tactical speed. #3 – Beautiful Carla (9-2): Is at her best at or around this distance.
Race 6: Starter option $12,500 charged, 3 years and older, 1 1/16 miles
#6 – Mister Mac Que (2-1): He’s in the best form of his career right now, winning his last two starts by a combined 14 ¾ lengths. #2 – Morning Thoughts (9-5): He bounced back to win his last start against this type of horse and should show some speed. #5 – Clubman (6-1): The veteran of the Maryland circuit has won over $700,000 in his 81-race career and should move up to second after a rest.
Race 7: Allowance Optional Claiming (N/W1X), 3-year-olds and older, 6 1/2 furlongs
#2 – Band Camp (1-1): Looks to make a five-win streak and could move on to the Maryland Million Sprint from here. #3 – Rad Paisley (6-1): A mainstay in the race and will look to outdo the others.
Gate to finish. #5 – Uncle Cat (5-1): Fought hard but ran out of steam in the last mile. This race seems to be right in his league.
Race 8: Shine Again Stakes, 3-year-olds and older, fillies, 6 1/2 furlongs
#6 – Kitten’s Appeal (6-1): Beat a second-level field in a stunning win in her last race, it will be interesting to see if she makes it to the top or is rated. #1 – Discrete Opus (6-1): A filly who finished second in a graded stakes will be even better in her return to dirt. #3 – Hot Fudge Warrior (9-2): Will be looking to repeat her strong gate-to-finish performance at Delaware Park in her last race.
Race 9: Maiden Claiming, $5,000, 3-, 4- and 5-year-old fillies, 6 1/2 furlongs
#1 – Eight O's Mocha (7-2): Finished second in his first two starts. Was caught on the outside in his last race but should be able to show his true potential from post one here. #8 – Breaking Rules (3-1): Finished in the top three in each of his last six starts but was caught on the outside in his last race. #5 – Any Fool's Gold (9-2): Has been at his best on turf recently but even though he's not as good on this surface he should be able to compete with these types of horses.
