According to Royse City Police, a 15-year-old girl was walking home from school when she was picked up by a Royse City man and offered money in exchange for sex acts.
Daniel Leak, 44, was charged with human trafficking of a minor and solicitation of prostitution in connection with the incident, which occurred on Thursday, August 22nd at approximately 4pm.
According to Royse City Police, a 15-year-old girl was walking home from school along IH-30 South Service Road between FM 35 and FM 548 when an unknown man, who identified himself as Leek, approached her in a white SUV and offered her a ride.
The girl told authorities she voluntarily got into Leak's car, but once inside, he told her he was taking her to his home. Leak then allegedly offered the 15-year-old girl money to perform sex acts, but she refused.
According to police, the victim told police Leak had stopped at a gas station to buy her a drink, then escaped from the vehicle and fled before being stopped by a Royse City officer who was conducting a traffic stop.
While the victim and officers were speaking, Leak's SUV was seen leaving the parking lot and heading toward Shaw Drive. Royse City officers pursued Leak, pulled him over and took him into custody without incident, police said.
The 15-year-old boy was not injured and was transported to the Rockwall County Child Advocacy Center for a forensic interview. The police department said detectives are still investigating the incident and are providing the leak's information to other law enforcement agencies to see if it matches other investigations.
Leak was booked into the Rockwall County Detention Center.
