This new era for Kentucky women's basketball is one we're excited about at BBN, and we're ready to watch the program transition into a culture where winning becomes a habit in Lexington. Under head coach Kenny Brooks, the Cats are poised to have their best season in years.
But just how good will Kentucky be this season?
Technology is improving every day (at a rate that, let's be honest, is probably surprising) to the point where AI (Artificial Intelligence) can now use data to accurately predict how Kentucky will perform this season. The software used in this exercise is Twitter/X's AI ChatGPT and Grok.
Chat GPT
Predicted record: 20-25 wins
ChatGPT seems to be the more optimistic of the two software, citing Kentucky’s historic success as the main reason for their potential in 2024 to 2025. You’ll note that these AIs are still in development and can only really be relied upon with limited information.
Still, 20-25 wins seems like a fair assessment and is within the range of what fans should expect from the team, at least in the regular season.

Grok
Predicted record: 18-20 wins
Grok's explanation was much more detailed than ChatGPT's, and it also rated the team's potential a bit lower than ChatGPT's.
In the scenarios outlined below, Groch said the best the Cats can achieve is roughly 22-8 and the worst is 12 wins, the same number of wins coach Kayla Elzy has had at Kentucky over the past two seasons.

Obviously, expectations are much higher for Kentucky than they have been recently (even though Grok believes the team's minimum win total is 12). A 20-win season seems within reach, the first since 2019-20, Matthew Mitchell's final season at the helm.
The power of AI is predicted to help Brooks lead this team to a successful season, and there's no reason why that won't happen, but don't use ChatGPT to create your scouting reports, Kenny.
