The 2024 FedEx Cup Playoffs will conclude this week with the 2024 Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. The top 30 players in the FedEx Cup standings will compete this week for a share of the $100 million bonus pool, with the winner receiving $25 million. Scottie Scheffler has six wins this season and starts the tournament two strokes behind Xander Schauffele. Scheffler started the tournament at 10 under and is the -115 favorite to win the 2024 Tour Championship (bet $115 to win $100). Meanwhile, Justin Thomas (400-1) qualified last and will start the tournament at even par.
The first round of the 2024 Tour Championship begins on Thursday with no cut for the 36 holes. Since moving from points to a staggered-start stroke-play event in 2019, three of the last five FedEx Cup champions have come from behind to win the Tour Championship. Before you lock in your 2024 Tour Championship picks, Scottie Scheffler props or golf picks on sites like FanDuel, DraftKings, Underdog Fantasy, PrizePicks or Pick6, be sure to check out SportsLine's proven computer model golf predictions and projected leaderboards.
Our proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been immensely popular since the PGA Tour returned in June 2020. In fact, the model has made over $9,500 on its top bet since the restart, winning tournament after tournament.
This same model had already predicted 13 majors by the end of the week, including the 2024 Masters (a third consecutive Masters), this year's PGA Championship and the U.S. Open. Anyone who has followed the model has made huge profits.
With the Tour Championship 2024 now confirmed to take place, SportsLine simulated the tournament 10,000 times, and the results are astounding: Visit SportsLine now to see the projected leaderboard.
Top predictions for the 2024 Tour Championship
The surprise is Collin Morikawa (28-1) making a strong run to the title. The 27-year-old has six PGA Tour wins, two major championships and is currently ranked sixth in the Official World Golf Rankings. Morikawa enters the tournament tied for sixth at four under par with Rory McIlroy, Patrick Cantlay, Wyndham Clark and Sam Burns.
Although he had a tough 2023 season, slipping out of the top 20 in the world rankings, Morikawa won the Zozo Championship during the PGA Tour's fall season and added six top-five finishes, including a tie for third at the Masters, in 2024. Morikawa has a much better chance of winning than the odds suggest, making him an easy target for anyone looking to make a big payday.
The model also looked at Scheffler's (-115) ranking. Scheffler earned his card on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2019 and won his first PGA Tour event at the World Cup Phoenix Open in February 2022. But it's been a whirlwind run since then, with Scheffler winning 11 more times in the next 30 months (including two green jackets).
In 2024, Scheffler is a six-time PGA Tour winner and Olympic gold medalist in Paris, but has lost all 14 of his career FedEx Cup playoff events and failed to win the Tour Championship the past two seasons despite starting the season in first place. This model has now confirmed his Scottie Scheffler Tour Championship predictions.
How to choose the 2024 Tour Championship
The model also targets four other golfers with odds of 28-to-1 or better to win the title. Bet on these longshots and you could hit the big time. See the model's predictions exclusively here.
