Michael Brooks has been appointed general manager, Australia and New Zealand, for Warner Bros. Discovery.
In addition to his current role as MD of Warner Bros. International Television Production Australia, Brooks will take up the expanded role with immediate effect and will report to WBITVP president James Gibbons and Ronald Goes.
Brooks has been with the company since 2016 and previously spent more than 10 years working in the US, including in leadership roles at BBC Studios and Endemol Shine North America.
In his newly expanded position, Brooks will oversee all non-theatrical local businesses, including networks and streaming, content licensing and home entertainment, consumer products and gaming, as well as WBITVP Australia, which will remain in its current reporting structure to WBITVP headquarters in London and will not be part of Brooks' expanded remit.
Meanwhile, Justin Emmer, current Chief Financial Officer for the Asia Pacific region, has decided to leave the company at the end of this year. “He has been a great partner to me and the management team in driving our financial operations and supporting our strategic objectives for the region. I would like to thank Justin for his commitment and wish him every success in the future,” Gibbons said.
