Jayden Daniels was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, but he had to win the starting quarterback spot in Washington this offseason. He was up against veteran Marcus Mariota, and earlier this month, newly-appointed Commanders head coach Dan Quinn announced that Daniels had won the spot. Is last year's Heisman Trophy winner worth including in your 2024 fantasy football lineup as one of the top rookie quarterbacks for 2024?
What to do with 2024 fantasy football rookies is always a challenge every draft season, but this year's draft saw six of them drafted in the first 12 picks. Which 2024 fantasy football breakouts will make an impact in Year 1, and which ones should be avoided entirely? If you're looking for fantasy football advice in 2024, be sure to check out SportsLine's 2024 Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet from their proven computer model.
Last year, the model accurately predicted that Lions running back Jameel Gibbs would provide much more value than expected in his rookie season, when Gibbs ran for 945 yards and 10 touchdowns while catching 52 passes for 316 yards and one score. Gibbs was an average mid-fourth round pick, but finished as a top-10 running back in CBS Sports PPR leagues.
The same model has a proven track record of providing fantasy football tips, identifying AJ Brown as a sleeper in 2020 and accurately predicting Jonathan Taylor's phenomenal season in 2021. Additionally, they have also predicted past fantasy football sleepers such as Derrick Henry in 2019, Christian McCaffrey and Alvin Kamara in 2018, and Davante Adams in 2017. Betting on these players has led to them winning league titles.
The model is built by the same people who create the predictions for the three major fantasy sites, and it beat out human experts last season when there was a huge gap in the rankings. Predictions are updated multiple times daily, so you'll always get the best fantasy football advice.

2024 Caleb Williams Fantasy Football Predictions
The model has confirmed Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams' 2024 fantasy football projections. Williams, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, has shown explosiveness and playmaking ability in his limited preseason appearances that have made him one of the most highly-anticipated quarterback prospects to enter the NFL in the past decade. Williams will not play in the Bears' final preseason game, but has shown enough potential in his two appearances that he is considered the front-runner for this year's NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award.
Williams will need to adjust to playing in cold weather, a part of his career in Chicago. After playing in warm climates for the majority of his collegiate career, he will now have to deal with wind and sub-freezing temperatures on a regular basis. Williams currently has an ADP of 103.6 and is an average ninth-round pick in CBS Sports fantasy football drafts. You can see the complete fantasy football QB rankings here.
2024 Jayden Daniels Fantasy Football Predictions
The model also released a projection for Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner out of Louisiana State University who was selected No. 2 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. Daniels completed 72.2% of his passes for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns with four interceptions, while also rushing for 1,134 yards and 10-plus scores.
New Commanders head coach Dan Quinn didn't guarantee Daniels a starting spot, but he was officially named the starter last week after winning a commanding quarterback battle with veteran Marcus Mariota. Daniels has shown off an active arm and impressive athleticism throughout the preseason, but he will have to shoulder a heavy load for an offense that ranks 25th in the NFL in scoring and 24th in total yards. You can see each quarterback's ranking here.
2024 Bo Nix Fantasy Football Predictions
The model also revealed fantasy projections for Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix. Thought to be a bit part first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Nix was a surprise selection at 12th overall by the quarterback-starved Broncos. Nix had an up-and-down three-year stint at Auburn from 2019-2021, but bounced back after transferring to Oregon in 2022. He completed 74.9% of his passes for 8,101 yards and 74 touchdowns with just 10 interceptions for the Ducks.
Nicks was clearly the Broncos' best quarterback in the preseason, outranking veterans Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson. Head coach Sean Payton named Nicks the starter on August 22, making him the first rookie to start at quarterback in the Broncos' season opener since John Elway in 1983. With a questionable supporting cast, Nicks will have to prove his relevance in fantasy as he is drafted around 169th overall according to the latest 2024 fantasy football ADP.
