The first wave of generative AI was driven by its use in internet services, showcasing amazing new possibilities with tools that help people write, research, and imagine faster than ever before.
The availability of advanced open source foundational models and advances in agent AI that improve efficiency and autonomy in AI workflows have ushered in the second wave of generative AI. Companies across industries can develop their own AI applications using models such as Google Gemma, Llama 3.1 405B, Microsoft Phi, Mixtral, and Nemotron to support their business growth and improve productivity.
To accelerate business transformation, enterprises need blueprints for standard generative AI workflows such as digital human customer service chatbots, search augmentation generation, drug discovery, etc. NVIDIA NIM microservices make these models available to enterprises efficiently, but building generative AI applications for the enterprise is a complex, multi-step process.
Released today, the NVIDIA NIM Agent Blueprint contains everything enterprise developers need to build and deploy customized generative AI applications that deliver transformative impact on business objectives.
The Data-Driven Enterprise Flywheel Blueprint
NIM Agent blueprints are reference AI workflows tailored to specific use cases, including sample applications built with NVIDIA NIM and partner microservices, reference code, customization documentation, and Helm charts for deployment.
The NIM Agent Blueprint enables developers to rapidly create their own applications using NVIDIA's advanced AI tools and end-to-end development experience for each use case. The Blueprint is designed to be modifiable and extensible, allowing developers to take advantage of both information retrieval and agent-based workflows capable of performing complex tasks.
The NIM Agent Blueprint also helps developers improve their applications across the entire AI lifecycle. As users interact with your AI application, new data is generated. This data can be used to refine and strengthen your models in a continuous learning cycle, creating a data-driven, generative AI flywheel.
The NIM Agent Blueprint helps companies build their own generative AI flywheels with applications that link models and data. NVIDIA NeMo facilitates this process, and NVIDIA AI Foundry serves as the production environment for running the flywheel.
The initially available NIM agent blueprints are:
Digital Humans for Customer Service, Generative Virtual Screening to Accelerate Drug Discovery, Multimodal PDF Data Extraction for RAGs for Enterprises
ServiceNow, a leader in enterprise AI that has integrated advanced generative AI capabilities into its digital workflow platform, has already deployed NIM microservices in its Now Assist AI solution, leveraging the technologies outlined in the NIM blueprint for digital humans for customer service.
“AI is more than just a tool — it's the foundation for fundamental change to help companies empower their employees and better serve their customers,” said John Sigler, senior vice president of Platform and AI at ServiceNow. “Through our collaboration with NVIDIA, we've built new generative AI products and capabilities that will accelerate growth for ServiceNow customers and drive their AI transformation.”
Additional NIM Agent Blueprints are in development for creating generative AI applications for customer service, content generation, software engineering, retail shopping advisors, and R&D. NVIDIA plans to introduce new NIM Agent Blueprints every month.
NVIDIA Ecosystem Accelerates Enterprise Adoption
NVIDIA's partner ecosystem, including global systems integrator and service delivery partners Accenture, Deloitte, SoftServe, Quantiphi and World Wide Technology, is delivering NIM agent blueprints to enterprises around the world.
The NIM Agent Blueprint can be optimized using customer interaction data with tools from NVIDIA's partner ecosystem, including Dataiku and DataRobot for model fine-tuning, governance and monitoring, deepset, LlamaIndex, Langchain for building workflows, Weights and Biases for generative AI application evaluation, and CrowdStrike, Datadog, Fiddler AI, New Relic and Trend Micro for additional protection. Infrastructure platform providers such as Nutanix, Red Hat and Broadcom support the NIM Agent Blueprint in their enterprise solutions.
Customers can build and deploy NIM agent blueprints on NVIDIA-certified systems from manufacturers such as Cisco, Dell Technologies, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Lenovo, as well as NVIDIA-accelerated cloud instances on Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
To help enterprises leverage data for generative AI applications, the NIM agent blueprint can be integrated with data and storage platforms from NVIDIA partners, including Cohesity, Datastax, Dropbox, NetApp and VAST Data.
A collaborative future for developers and data scientists
Generative AI fosters collaboration between developers and data scientists: developers build applications on top of NIM agent blueprints, and data scientists implement a data flywheel to continuously improve custom NIM microservices. As the NIM improves, so do the associated applications, creating a cycle of continuous enhancement and data generation.
With the NIM Agent Blueprint and support from NVIDIA's partners, nearly any business can seamlessly integrate generative AI into their applications, driving efficiency and innovation across industries.
Businesses can experience the NVIDIA NIM Agent Blueprint today.
