All nine ECU Health hospitals are known for excellence in care.
The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association has presented all nine ECU Health hospitals with Get With the Guidelines Achievement Awards in the treatment of stroke, diabetes, cardiac arrest, heart attack and heart failure. These awards recognize the health system's commitment to following the latest research-based guidelines for heart disease, diabetes and stroke, which has led to more lives saved, shorter recovery times and fewer readmissions.
“ECU Health is honored to receive national recognition from the American Heart Association for our unwavering commitment to providing the highest level of care to eastern North Carolina. These achievements reflect the dedication and expertise of our team who work tirelessly every day to provide the best possible care to patients across our health system. By adhering to the latest research-based guidelines, we not only improve outcomes for our patients, but also advance our mission to improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve,” said Theresa Anderson, PhD, RN, NE-BC, senior vice president of quality at ECU Health.
“Having quality care close to home is essential, especially in an area like Eastern North Carolina, where rates of stroke, diabetes and heart disease are significantly higher,” said Dr. Niti Armistead, Chief Quality Officer for ECU Health. Receiving specialty care and adhering to evidence-based guidelines locally allows patients to receive the best possible care without the stress of traveling long distances, which can make a crucial difference in their recovery and overall wellness. The 'Get With the Guidelines' program aligns with our mission to improve the health and well-being of Eastern North Carolina by utilizing proven knowledge and guidelines on a daily basis. Patients throughout the region can rest easy knowing that all of our hospitals are able to provide excellent care.”
