Modern design meets local craftsmanship
Enter Projects Asia (EPA), a leader in sustainable construction, recently completed a new home, The Brickhouse, at the Laguna Homes site in Phuket, Thailand. With a land area of 988 square meters and a total built-up area of 688.5 square meters, the brick villa offers 525 square meters of spacious living space. The Brickhouse is a blend of creative design, advanced technology, and traditional craftsmanship, all based on sustainable biophilic principles. The project marks “a new chapter in Thai residential architecture,” blending international design standards with local craftsmanship to create a contemporary, yet timeless living space.

Enter Project is creating a tropical Thailand
Brick House embodies Enter Projects Asia's commitment to blending traditional elements with contemporary aesthetics. Inspired by mid-century modern design, the villa is a tropical retreat that is both functional and beautiful. The architects strategically positioned the building beside a tranquil oasis adjacent to the Laguna Golf Phuket Championship Course, allowing for both privacy and proximity to amenities. The villa's design utilizes premium materials such as brick, slate and wood, resulting in a structure that is contemporary yet makes a lasting impression.
Inside Brick House, the commitment to supporting the local economy and preserving traditional craftsmanship is evident. The villa is filled with bespoke furnishings made from locally sourced natural materials, including rattan, specially sourced plywood and marble. These materials are chosen not only for their aesthetic beauty but also for their sustainability. The artisans responsible for these pieces come from families with a tradition of craftsmanship spanning five generations, meaning each piece is rich with history and tradition. Attention to detail exudes an atmosphere of warmth and tranquility, making the villa a true sanctuary.
Brickhouse emphasizes sustainable design, combining modern technology with traditional craftsmanship.
Brick homes seamlessly blend indoor and outdoor living
The Brick House blends indoor and outdoor living spaces, and the 18-metre pool overlooking the golf course provides a tranquil setting for relaxation and recreation. A private courtyard filled with date palm trees further enhances the connection to nature. The design carefully considers environmental factors, and each zone of the home is crafted to optimise cross ventilation, promoting personal wellness and reducing the need for artificial cooling. This thoughtful design makes the Brick House a model for environmental design.
Sustainability is at the heart of The Brickhouse's design. The villa is equipped with solar panels for electricity generation, a hybrid water heater and an EV charging station, contributing to increased energy efficiency. The orientation of the house and long roof overhangs maximize natural light and ventilation, reducing reliance on artificial lighting and air conditioning. These features make this project more than just a luxury home; it's a forward-thinking solution for modern living.

Patrick Keane, the driving force behind Enter Project Asia, sums up the studio's philosophy: “So much of architecture is dictated simply by what is produced and sold. We want to use hybrid materials, engage with local economies and work with forward-thinking engineers to optimise the structure and devise construction details.” This vision is clearly reflected in Brickhouse, where sustainability and innovation are integral to every aspect of the project. By fusing traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, Enter Project Asia has created a villa that resonates with those who live there and offers a unique, sustainable living experience.
