If you're looking for a great place for brunch, Oregon has five of the best options in the country, according to Yelp.
The social media review site's “Top 100 Brunch Spots for 2024” includes three Portland restaurants and two Bend restaurants. Yelp compiled the list based on the total volume and ratings of reviews that mentioned “brunch” and “Mother's Day” over the past three years. For restaurants with multiple locations, only the highest-rated locations are included on the list.
Coming in at No. 13 is Screen Door's Pearl District location (1131 NW Couch St., screenddoorrestaurant.com). Its brunch menu, available daily from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., includes favorites like praline bacon, cream cheese cinnamon rolls and chicken and waffles.
McKay Cottages in Bend (62910 OB Riley Road, open daily 7am-2pm, themckaycottage.com) ranked 51st. Popular dishes include Baja chicken hash stack, eggs Benedict and stuffed French toast, according to Yelp.
Portland's Australian café Proud Mary (2012 NE Alberta St., daily 8am-3pm, proudmarycoffee.com) comes in at No. 71. Restaurant critic Michael Russell loves the towering avocado toast on whole-grain sourdough bread, the glass terrarium filled with lemon curd yogurt and granola, and the potato hash in anchovy-flavored cream sauce. He says, “The pancakes are some of the most beautiful in Portland: rich, cakey, plate-full ricotta hotcakes topped with heaps of crunchy candy, sweet cream and edible flower petals.”
RJ Skillets (2529 NE Alberta St., rjskillets.com), a Portland-based Mexican restaurant specializing in Oaxacan cuisine, is No. 74. Popular dishes on Yelp include chilaquiles, mole enchiladas and breakfast burritos. Breakfast is available Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Lemon Tree in Bend (718 NW Franklin Ave., Wednesday-Sunday, 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m., lemontreebend.com) is No. 86. Favorite dishes from Yelp users include crab cakes Benedict, shakshuka and smoked salmon Benedict.
