In a horrific incident, a Pakistani woman allegedly killed two people in her SUV after driving recklessly. A video of Natasha Danish, wife of prominent businessman Danish Iqbal, has gone viral in which she can be seen smiling after the incident. The video has sparked outrage on social media.
The accident that took two lives
On August 19, Natasha Danish was driving a Toyota Land Cruiser when she struck several vehicles and pedestrians. She struck a motorbike while making a turn on Karzaz Street, then struck two more motorbikes. Her SUV flipped over and crashed into a parked car. A father and daughter were killed and three others were injured in the tragic accident.
Public and media outrage
The video, which went viral online, sparked public outrage as it showed Natasha looking resigned and even smiling. Crowds at the scene of the accident were seen trying to stop her from escaping. The video sparked outrage on social media questioning law and order.
Initial reports said she was drunk, but those claims have not been confirmed. Video shows her bragging about her father's influence while being guarded by security.
“You don't know who my father is,” she told the angry crowd.
Natasha's legal adviser Amir Mansubh said his client was not mentally stable and was being treated at Jinnah Hospital, but reports said hospital records stated she was in good health and did not require any psychiatric intervention.
The case has sparked backlash and debate over the fairness of her treatment, with some alleging she was given privileged treatment because of her wealthy connections. Local media reports said she did not attend court despite the seriousness of the case.
