Icelandic budget airline Play is celebrating the unofficial end of summer with a Labor Day sale, enticing travelers with 25 percent off flights to Europe.
The sale, published by Play in collaboration with Travel + Leisure, is available on flights departing from the U.S. to Iceland, Copenhagen, Paris, London, Amsterdam, Berlin and Dublin. To take advantage of the sale, travelers must book the sale by midnight ET on September 4.
The deal can be booked on Play's website and is valid for travel from September 28th to November 2nd and November 4th to December 15th.
“The PLAY deal allows travelers to plan a refreshing post-summer getaway in a European destination that suits their travel preferences,” the airline said in a statement shared with T+L. “The off-season is known for lower travel costs and fewer crowds. Plus, natural wonders like the Northern Lights and France's famous autumn foliage are a treat for those looking to enjoy some of Europe's most picturesque scenery.”
The sale is valid at Play's U.S. gateway airports: Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI), Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), New York Stewart International Airport (SWF) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).
Discount applies to airfare but not to taxes, fees or airline charges.
The off-season sales period is one of the best times to travel to Europe, as you can get great prices on both flights and accommodation and there are far fewer crowds.
Play Air plans to begin operating within Europe in 2021, with its first flight from the US scheduled for 2022. The airline operates a “hub-and-spoke model,” with all flights passing through Reykjavik before heading to destinations across Europe.
Play Air also operates as an ultra-low-cost airline, charging per flight segment for everything from checked baggage to in-flight meals and drinks. The airline operates a fleet of Airbus aircraft, including the A320 and A321neo.
