Homeward, a regional hybrid care provider, announced the appointment of internist Dr. Greg Burrell as its first chief medical officer.
Burrell will oversee quality assurance and the company's clinical and navigation strategy across markets, working to improve member experience and support health systems.
He previously served as chief medical officer at employer health insurer Gravie and vice president of clinical solutions and deputy CMO at virtual health care company Accolade.
Burrell also co-founded Carbon Health, a virtual primary care and urgent care provider, where he served as vice president of clinical strategy and product and primary care medical director.
“Today marks a pivotal moment in our efforts to reimagine health care and care delivery in rural America as we welcome Dr. Burrell as Homeward's first chief medical officer,” Dr. Jennifer Schneider, co-founder and CEO of Homeward, said in a statement.
“Dr. Burrell's clinical acumen, experience building innovative clinical products and commitment to patient experience and quality of care will be invaluable as we continue to grow and expand to meet the healthcare needs of rural America.”
New York-based mental health platform Headway has hired Susan Chan as its chief information security officer.
Qian was previously Chief Security Officer at cloud cybersecurity and website services company Cloudflare, and previously served on the security leadership team at Uber and worked in technology and healthcare consulting at Deloitte, as well as gaining security and strategy experience from his time at Salesforce.
She will oversee Headway's engineering, IT, data privacy and security.
