Sun vs Fever WNBA Best Bets
Joe Derella
The Sun take on the Fever on Wednesday night and I’m targeting Alyssa Thomas.
The Suns have an uncanny ability to confuse opponents on the defensive end while also deploying a high-powered inside-to-outside offensive style.
Thomas is the team's driving force. She's averaging 11.2 points, 9.1 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game this season. In three games against Indiana, she's averaging 14.7 points and 14 rebounds.
But she's spiking in both scoring and rebounding, so I want to target the combo prop.
Her points plus rebounds line is set at 19.5 and she has surpassed that in every game this season and in six of seven games overall against the Fever since last season.
I expect her to exceed 19.5 points + rebounds in another strong matchup, and I'd even bet on 20.5.

Liberty vs Sparks WNBA Best Bets
Joe Derella
The Liberty's 1st quarter momentum continues tonight. They are the best 1st quarter team in the WNBA with a net rating of +20.5. They dominate opponents from the start of the game.
The Liberty has played the Sparks three times this season, winning two of those games in the first quarter and winning the full game all three times. They are a much better team than the Sparks.
The Liberty's biggest strength is that they typically play most of the first quarter with their starters, arguably the best rotation in the WNBA.
I’m backing Liberty to get off to another strong start.
Pick: Liberty 1Q -4.5
Lynx vs Mercury WNBA Best Bets
Joe Derella
The Lynx have a net rating of +16.1, making them the second-best team in the first quarter behind the Liberty. They are also a team that starts by dominating their opponents.
These teams have met three times before, with the Lynx winning the first quarter and full game in two of the three meetings.
The Mercury are a tougher test for opponents than their 16-15 record would suggest, but I still think they're overrated compared to Minnesota.
This season, the Lynx have a net rating of +9.0 while Phoenix is -2.0, and while Phoenix is arguably better at home, Minnesota still boasts the second-best net rating on the road at 8-5.
Minnesota is the better team and considering they haven't played since Saturday, we expect to see a longer rotation of their elite starters in this game.
Pick: Lynx 1Q -1
