COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – The Colorado Department of Health released numbers Wednesday showing El Paso County leads Colorado in COVID-19 deaths since the pandemic began.
El Paso County has reported more than 200,000 total cases and nearly 2,000 deaths, and has lagged in vaccinations in the past.
The Colorado Department of Health reported 2,805 cases this week alone, with dozens of people currently hospitalized.
The number of vaccines from 2023 onwards is as follows:

The current predominant strain of COVID-19 is the KP.3.1.1 variant, which is increasingly being found in COVID cases.
Because cold weather is expected to lead to an increase in COVID-19, influenza, and respiratory syncytial virus cases as people spend more time indoors, the CDC recommends getting up to date on vaccinations.
