Google has redesigned the “Trending Keywords” section of Google Trends. The new design shows many more trending queries on the page, all in a clear list view interface.
What you'll see: This new trends page shows you when a phrase started trending, its search volume, a breakdown of the trend, and a graph. It also has handy filter options at the top that allow you to filter by country, time period, trend status, and relevance. Plus, you can export to CSV, clipboard, or RSS feed.
Here's what it looks like: Here's a screenshot of how it currently looks:
Why do we care: Lots of SEOs, content managers, and reporters use Google Trends to find keyword ideas and content ideas. This new interface makes it easier to research content ideas and topics to feature on your site.
Personally, I don't use Google Trends to decide what to write or not write. Instead, I write what I think my readers want to hear. Of course, I'm on a super niche topic: Google search, so this might not be a good example here.
