Sky Sport Italia report that Lyon midfielder Orel Mangala has chosen Fiorentina over Everton, but the Premier League side remain in the title race.
According to Sky Sports Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Fiorentina have overtaken Everton in the race to sign Belgian international Mangala.
Sky had previously reported that Fiorentina were in the race to sign the 26-year-old midfielder, along with Everton, but the latest reports are that Mangala has opted for the Tuscany over Everton.
Mangala reportedly favours Fiorentina over Everton
Di Marzio says Lyon are open to loaning the player, which is why Fiorentina are keen to get the deal done quickly.
However, it could also mean the Tuscans sell Sofiane Amrabat, who has attracted interest from Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce and La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.
Fiorentina announced on Wednesday the signing of Yacine Adli from AC Milan on loan with an option to buy.
The Tuscans face Puskas Accademia in the Conference League play-off tonight but must win the away game after a 3-3 draw in Florence last week.
