England's T20 World Cup preparations will not be affected by the last-minute switch from Bangladesh to the United Arab Emirates, captain Heather Knight has said.
Civil unrest in Bangladesh forced the International Cricket Council to move the tournament just six weeks before the first match was due to be played on October 3.
“It will be a little different, but not a lot different,” Knight, 33, said.
“In terms of player preparation and team composition, we have had Bangladesh in mind for a long time, probably for the last few years.
“But I don't think it will change much. As a player, you'll have a bit more time outside of your hotel room, which is always a good thing.”
Knight said it was “disappointing” that the Bangladesh women's team could not host the World Cup in their home country, but added that relocating the tournament was “the right decision”.
One of the most obvious differences between Sharjah and Dubai will be the smaller crowds, and Knight said he would speak to his players about this.
“I played in Bangladesh in the 2014 World Cup and there were really good crowds, especially in Sylhet, it was a really good atmosphere,” Knight said.
“That's something we'll discuss, but it's the World Cup and it shouldn't take too much time to prepare for that.”
England begin their campaign against Bangladesh in Sharjah on October 5 before facing 2023 finalists South Africa, Scotland and the West Indies in the first group stage before the semi-finals.
