In Asia's best workplaces, positive experiences with managers build trust
Employees have a better experience in Best Workplaces compared to the average workplace in Asia.
OAKLAND, Calif., Aug. 29, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Today, Great Place To Work® announced its Best Workplaces™ in Asia for 2024. The list is based on confidential survey data including more than 2.7 million individual responses representing the experiences of approximately 6.9 million employees across the region. Employees reported their experiences with trust, innovation, company values and leadership, and these rankings are based on that feedback.
Companies are also evaluated on how well they create a For All™ work environment, where all employees feel accepted, regardless of who they are or what they do.
Companies on the 2024 list have a higher number of employees who report positive experiences at work compared to the general workplace in Asia. When companies build high levels of trust with their employees, they are more likely to be prepared for disruptions, including the rise of generative AI.
A market survey conducted by Great Place To Work among more than 7,000 employees across Asia and the Middle East found that less than half (49%) of employees say their employers train employees on the risks and benefits of using AI tools in the workplace, and only 46% say their employers invest in training on AI tools.
However, at Best Workplaces™, 89% of employees say their company rewards people who try new things – 27 percentage points higher than the 62% who say the same in the typical Asian workplace.
When employees say their company welcomes new trysts, they are 69% more likely to adapt quickly to change and 18% more likely to be more engaged in their work — both key elements of a culture that can rapidly adopt AI tools.
“Congratulations to all of our Asia's Best Workplaces,” said Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place To Work. “These companies are proving that investing in people leads to better outcomes for business and the planet.”

About the Asia Best Workplaces 2024 List
Great Place To Work analyzed corporate workplace programs and surveyed more than 2.7 million employees across multiple countries in Asia and the Middle East to select its Best Workplaces in Asia list for 2024. The responses reflect the experiences of approximately 6.9 million employees in the region.
To be considered, companies must first be recognised as outstanding locally by appearing on one or more of the following Best Workplaces lists in 2023 or early 2024: Bahrain, Greater China (including China, Hong Kong and Taiwan), India, Indonesia, Japan, Kuwait, Oman, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, UAE or Vietnam.
Companies are ranked in three size categories: small and medium-sized enterprises (50-499 employees), large enterprises (500+ employees), and multinational enterprises.
