Tech Designers' “Discovery Day” event returns at CEDIA Expo 2024 to reveal the future of home tech
LONGMONT, Colo. — August 14, 2024 — Technology Designer Magazine, the leading source for smart home technology for the design-build community, today announced details for the highly anticipated Day of Discovery 2024. The event will take place at the Colorado Convention Center on September 5th in tandem with CEDIA Expo 2024. The premier event for design-build professionals and home technology experts, the day-long conference promises to immerse attendees in an exploration of home technology, highlighting its transformative potential for design-build brands.

The event will be hosted by David Santiago, renowned designer and owner of Casa Santi Interior Design. Mr. Santiago is a well-known figure in the home furnishings industry, having created collections for both the hospitality and residential markets. He has appeared as a guest designer on NBC's “George to the Rescue” and as a design and lifestyle correspondent on CBS NY's “The Donna Drake Show.” Mr. Santiago recently joined TiedIn Media where he is responsible for publicity, directing and producing.
The dates for the day-long conference are as follows:
Breakfast Keynote — “Leveraging Technology as an Extension of Your Brand” (8:30-10:00 AM): This session kicks off Day of Discovery 2024 by discussing how experts in the design-build community can leverage their knowledge of technology to advance their own design goals and win more projects. Presentations will also discuss the role of technology designers when partnering with design-build professionals and the responsibilities that come with this collaboration. Lunch Keynote — “Selling Indoor Spaces That Promote Health” (12:00-1:30 PM): This keynote will explore the complex science and technology that underpins healthier indoor spaces. From passive home design concepts to air and water purification strategies, decarbonization, thermal management, the science of deep sleep, acoustics, and more, attendees will gain valuable insights to communicate to their customers the benefits of investing in spaces that promote health. CEDIA CEU Presentation — “Introduction to Intelligent Lighting Design” (1:45-2:30 PM): This session will delve into the importance of good lighting in bringing together the various components of a project. This session discussed advances in intentional, intelligent lighting products and the role that lighting designers play in creating thoughtful, carefully planned, and coordinated lighting solutions. This presentation is open to all CEDIA attendees and free to attendees of the full-day conference. Special Bonus Presentation — “Creating Amazing Entertainment Spaces” (4-5 p.m.): This session will focus on how the latest display technology can be used to transform any space into an entertainment powerhouse. The session covered the architecture, build-out, and accompanying space design required to create these spaces, providing attendees with inspiration for their own projects. Special Networking Reception “Party! Art & Sound” (5-7 p.m.): This session will close out Day of Discovery 2024 with a special reception featuring the creation of live art pieces immersed in a world of sound. Noah Kaplan of Leon Speakers will create an all-new art piece set to the sounds of Steinway & Sons. This is a unique opportunity for participants to network with professional peers and witness first-hand the intersection of art and sound.
