His attendance at the BRICS summit hosted by President Putin caused considerable anger on the Ukrainian side. The Foreign Ministry condemned Guterres' visit to Kazan. “This is the wrong choice, will bring us no closer to achieving peace, and will only undermine the credibility of the United Nations,” the ministry said.
