Germany. Police identify second victim found in cornfield
German investigators have identified the second man whose body was found in a cornfield in North Rhine-Westphalia. According to reports, he was an acquaintance of the first victim. They are both Polish.
The bodies of two men have been found in Gronau, North Rhine-Westphalia. According to Deutsche Welle, the Münster prosecutor's office and police suggested that one of the victims was a 23-year-old from the Gdańsk region.
The man's mother contacted police. As reported, DNA comparison with the mother's saliva sample confirmed the identity of the victim.
Investigators said the 23-year-old man was a friend of the first victim, a 25-year-old man, who was previously identified.
After identifying the 25-year-old, police said: “The identity of one of the deceased was determined based on descriptions, tattoos, clues from family members and DNA testing.”

On September 8 this year, a dog happened to find one of the men's shoes in Gronau. Police responded to the scene and found the remains of a buried body.
An autopsy revealed that he died about a week before his body was discovered.

This incident is under investigation. It is still unclear how the men died. It is known that small amounts of chemicals used in the production of synthetic drugs have been detected on clothing and on the body.
