The manuscript, simply titled “Valse,” has a name signed in cursive at the top of one of the sheets found. Researchers working on the composer's work claim that the paper and ink used to create the work match that commonly used by Frédéric Chopin.
The New York Times also reported that the handwriting, including the distinctive treble clef, is identical to other manuscripts by the Polish artist.
Unknown Chopin manuscript discovered in New York Museum archives
Jeffrey Kalberg, a researcher on Chopin's biography and works at the University of Pennsylvania, made no secret in an interview with an American daily that discoveries like the one made in late spring in the archives of the Morgan Library and Museum in New York were made. Ta. What a wonderful surprise!
– My jaw dropped. He reported that he had never seen anything like it before and described the first time he saw the previously unknown manuscript.

The discovery was made by curator Robinson McClellan, who discovered the work by chance while browsing through a collection of cultural memorabilia in the museum's vaults. The manuscript was written in small pieces, about the size of index cards.
A modern version of Frederik Chopin's waltz
The work contains small errors in rhythm and notation, which may suggest that Frédéric Chopin perceived the manuscript as a sketch. This work, currently attributed to Chopin, is estimated to have been created between 1830 and 1835, shortly after Chopin left Poland. This is a 48-bar waltz in A minor and is only 80 seconds long.

As Kalberg explains, the waltz's unusual dynamics, including the unusual triple forte at the beginning, aroused great interest among experts in Chopin's music. Although this song was discovered relatively recently, it can already be heard online. The waltz was performed by Lang Lang, an outstanding contemporary pianist.
