As reported, the essence of Pavel Narozny's case was the issue of transferring him to a separate cell. On December 21, prison officials decided to place the man in a high-security cell with another inmate. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison for murder.

In his complaint, Narozny claimed there were other empty rooms at the facility that could be transferred. In his opinion, the officers intentionally moved him to a place where his life was at risk.
“He was under the impression that the prison was trying to get rid of him and that their actions were ruining his Christmas,” the complaint states. As Narozny himself emphasized, he wanted to spend the holiday season in “peace and quiet.”
Czech court defended prisoner
In his application to the court, Pavel Narozny requested recognition of the illegal interference with the service. Bureau of Prisons attorneys say the lawsuit was pointless because the individuals involved did not complain about their cellmates and there were no conflicts during their time in the cells.
After some time, the case was brought to the Supreme Administrative Court of the Czech Republic, and the court sided with the prisoners. The panel of judges who heard the case said Narozny was an unproblematic prisoner whose cellmate posed a real threat due to his aggressive behavior toward other inmates.

Pavel Narozny is serving a life sentence in Milov Prison, Olomouc Oblast, Czech Republic. This man was found guilty of murdering his father and partner. His cellmate, who he spent eight days with, was sentenced to a total of 30 years in prison. He was first sentenced to 20 years in prison for the murder of his stepfather, and his second was 10 years for a brutal assault with a hammer on a fellow inmate.
