In a recent interview, the Ukrainian president said: “We must recognize Russia's victory in Georgia.” His statement concerned the results of parliamentary elections that sparked violent protests in the country.
“First they occupied Georgia, then they changed their policy, changed the government, and now there is a pro-Russian government, a pro-Russian position,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
He said Georgia chose friendship with Russia instead of joining the European Union. – They changed their positions – he pointed out.
Ukraine's president predicted that Russia would follow Georgia and occupy Moldova “within a year or two.” “And they will do it (victory in Moldova) if the Western countries do not stop opposing crossing the 'red line',” he stressed.
– Some countries argue that crossing a “no-crossing line” will cause escalation. Zelenskiy further explained: “I'm sorry, but the North Korean soldiers have already escalated. Not from us, but from Russia.”
Georgia legislative elections. Opposition parties seek new votes
On October 26, parliamentary elections were held in Georgia, and the Georgian Dream party, which had been in power for 12 years, won. However, their victory was not so clear. The Central Election Commission was behind their victory, but television reported an opposition victory and exit polls were inconsistent.
