US House of Representatives members are calling on President Joe Biden to allow Poland to shoot down a Russian missile over Ukraine. According to politicians, this will strengthen the security of the eastern region of the country and significantly contribute to the defense of the Ukrainian military's critical infrastructure.
The issue was reported by The Hill, whose reporters obtained a letter written by Joe Wilson and Steve Cohen. Members of the US Committee on Security and Cooperation in Europe have appealed to Joe Biden to rule in favor of Poland's request to shoot down a Russian missile.
The document called on the U.S. president to “authorize Poland to intercept and neutralize missiles over Ukraine, especially those that threaten to violate Polish airspace.”
“While Russia continues to escalate its hybrid warfare by violating its airspace, attacking critical infrastructure, and attempting to destabilize democratic institutions, we are hesitant to confront these threats decisively and face consequences. “Allowing Russia to wage war against the Alliance while minimizing it.”
