A 19-year-old Russian soldier survived when two Ukrainian tanks completely destroyed his armored vehicle during a battle in the Kursk region, Forbes reported. The skirmish occurred on October 15, when Russian troops from the 810th Marine Brigade approached two Ukrainian tanks in a BTR-82 armored personnel carrier.

Ukraine's Ministry of Defense released drone footage of the moment of the attack. One of the Ukrainian tanks opened fire on the armored personnel carrier from a distance of about 15 meters, causing severe damage to the vehicle. Two days after the battle, Ukrainian forces managed to locate one of the fighters of the Russian unit. It turned out to be a 19-year-old soldier of the Russian Federation. The man was lying unconscious on the ground. – We were in an armored personnel carrier, and suddenly – there was a boom. I didn't see anything – he recalled after the rescue operation.
The Russian soldier narrowly escaped from the destroyed transport vehicle but said he was glad he survived. “The command sent us as flesh,” he said.
War in Ukraine. Attacks continue in the Kursk region
Forbes magazine pointed out that Russia is sending as many soldiers as possible to the battlefield and is trying with all its might to stop the Ukrainian advance in the Kursk region. The newspaper said combatants receive only limited training before going to war.
