Donald Trump's government will be filled with supporters, the British newspaper “Financial Times” reported.
The newspaper speculates that President Trump will again make unconventional choices and try to bypass politicians who have long been present in Washington.
According to the newspaper's predictions, the White House chief of staff, one of the most important jobs in the administration, will be held by Susie Wiles, who has previously served as campaign manager for the Trump campaign. Mr. Wiles has covered Republican campaigns at all levels of politics for more than 40 years.
Two of the biggest names in the financial sector, Scott Bessent and John Paulson, could become finance ministers. The paper noted that President Trump has not yet decided who will perform better in this role.
Mike Pompeo, who has become one of Trump's closest allies, may once again be in charge of US foreign affairs, the FT and the website Politico have reported. Media outlets also believe that former U.S. Ambassador to Germany and Director of National Intelligence Rick Grenell is in the running for the role.
Candidates for defense secretary include Mike Walz and Tom Cotton. Walz is Trump's national security adviser, and Cotton is a veteran of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan who supports Trump's sweeping solutions to foreign and defense policy.
