On Sunday, the eve of Independence Day, President Andrzej Duda, at a ceremony to award public candidates, stressed that accepting a candidate means taking on an additional “grave responsibility” for the country's security.
Expressing hope for the return of “eras of peace” to Poland, the president reminded that today there is a full-scale war across the eastern border, which actually began in 2014. – These ceremonies awarding general candidates have been held in recent years. – Especially after 2014, especially after 2022 – the weight of that kind of thing is huge – he pointed out.

Andrzej Duda stressed at the ceremony that it was “no coincidence” that candidates for army soldiers, police officers and firefighters were nominated at the same time.
– Today we look at what is happening behind the eastern borders of Ukraine, in particular, and what we have to do to protect our common borders from hybrid attacks from the Belarusian side. You also know by doing. For the security of the Republic of Poland, all of you must work together, and synergy is of fundamental importance for Poland's security, Mr. Duda stressed.

He referred to a bill that is being prepared jointly with the State Security Agency and the Ministry of Defense on “the actions of state authorities in the event of external threats to the state.” As he pointed out, the project aims to enable generals and their subordinates to function efficiently.
Polish army. This is the new general
On Sunday, Andrzej Duda awarded the recommendations of generals and admirals to 12 officers of the Polish Army. The President also awarded general promotions to three State Fire Marshal's Office employees and three police officers.
