Zalem Musaeva is facing new charges. Her son criticized Kadyrov
The mother of a prominent critic of Chechen dictator Ramzan Kadyrov is facing further charges, Russia's independent website The Moscow Times reported. The ailing 55-year-old woman is currently in prison and has been charged with obstructing prison operations. She could receive an additional five years in prison.
Zarema Musaeva, mother of Chechen activist Abubakar Junglebayev and wife of a former federal judge, is currently serving a five-year sentence for fraud and assaulting a police officer. The 55-year-old suffers from chronic diabetes and was hospitalized last month.
As it turns out, the woman could face up to an additional five years in prison on charges of obstructing prison operations, human rights group Crews Against Torture announced. Musaeva denied these allegations.

According to the group, investigators visited a woman in prison in the Chechnya city of Argun and questioned her about an alleged assault on a prison guard who accompanied her to the hospital.
