Donald Trump to appoint special envoy to lead European peace talks
“President-elect Donald Trump will soon appoint a peace envoy to travel to Ukraine and lead negotiations to end the war with Russia,” Fox News reported Wednesday, citing “numerous sources.” Reported. According to the message, he will be a “trustworthy” person to find solutions to reach an agreement between the parties to the conflict.
FOX News reported that President Trump will soon appoint a “high-level special envoy” to travel to Ukraine. That means being a “credible person tasked with finding solutions and reaching peace agreements.”
Officials appointed by President Trump will perform their duties free of charge, the announcement said.
“From 2017 to 2019, Kurt Volker voluntarily served as special representative for negotiations with Ukraine,” the American broadcaster recalled.

President Trump said months before he ran for president that he could end the conflict in Europe within 24 hours. He reiterated that he knows both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
So far, he has not specified exactly how he wants to bring peace to Europe.
According to the Wall Street Journal, President Trump's aides are pushing ahead with a plan that Vice President-elect J.D. Vance discussed during the campaign.

The solution is to create a demilitarized zone along the “current borders,” giving Russia guarantees of Kiev's neutrality and depriving Ukraine of the possibility of joining NATO for the next 20 years.
The Russian Federation will also retain occupied territory in Ukraine.
