President Vladimir Putin said Russia has launched a new intermediate-range ballistic missile. He added that the Kremlin tested weapons “in response to Western aggression.”
– President Vladimir Putin said in a televised address on Thursday that Russia had carried out medium-range missile strikes against military facilities in Ukraine, in response to recent long-range attacks in Ukraine using Western weapons. “After long-range attacks from Ukraine, the regional conflict acquired a global element,” he added.
President Putin acknowledged that the Ukrainian military hit targets in Bryansk Oblast on November 19th with six ATACMS missiles, and on November 21st in Kursk Oblast with the Storm Shadow system.

Putin, whose speech was reported by Reuters, said that attacking Russia with Western weapons would not change the outcome of the “special operation.” In his opinion, “the enemy has not achieved the goal.”

“We have the right to use weapons against the military facilities of those who use them,” the leader said. He insisted that if Russia intended to use hypersonic weapons against Ukraine, it would warn civilians in advance.
“If an escalation occurs, we will respond symmetrically,” he added.

President Vladimir Putin announced in a speech that Russian forces on Thursday attacked a missile manufacturing company in Dnipropetrovsk. RIA Novosti reported that the attack was carried out by a non-nuclear hypersonic ballistic missile.
“President Vladimir Putin has stressed that the international security system has been destroyed by the United States. The United States made the mistake of abandoning the Intermediate-Range Missile Treaty in 2019. ” read the leader's report released by Russia's state agency.
